Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was an American and British sitar artist. She was among the youngest and first female to win an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also act as a host at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is an Indian young sitar star. She is a scholar and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life were split in London in London and New Delhi. When she was only 13 when her first performance in New Delhi took place. In the following years, in Encinitas CA she attended high school, graduating with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha was only an teen, has enjoyed an extremely successful recording and performing career. Her father has accompanied her to numerous performances over some time. Her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Her stage career is very extensive for she has been in every one of the world's major venues. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to the music industry. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Her career continues to grow and she is expected to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka was born in England and spent a lot of her growing up between London and Delhi. She then moved to California and attended the high school there. She began studying music at age 9 and was a sitar player in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka was a part of her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. In her teenage years she appeared in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. To honor her position as an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
